January-March Fun

We had a few fun things that we did in the first few months of the year.

We celebrated Karlee's birthday with making a cake and going to dinner. We painted wood fish that grandpa cut out so we could go "fishing". We tried on mommy's clothes to cheer on our second favorite team The Chargers! We celebrated Valentines day with a fun love themed dinner and fun gifts. We played in the snow. We went to our first 3D movie, Yogi Bear.

Found a box with old Halloween costumes and played dress up. We also went to Disney on Ice which was a much better experience compared to the year before!

I have to start somewhere...

So Christmas 2010 it is!

Christmas was nice last year. We were able to stay home and stay in our pajamas all day long. I think those are the best kind! Uncle Trevor was in town so we had the whole family together which is always nice. This is the first Christmas morning Trevor has got to spend with Colton since he has been old enough to actually open presents.

Uncle Trevor stayed for about a week and Colton loved playing with him! Unfortunately I don't have a ton of pictures of the two of them together. One night though Colton wore his Woody jammies but was acting like Buzz and the two of them ran around the house "flying" yelling "To Infinity and Beyond" I love seeing the two of them get together and play since we only get to see Trevor a few times a year.

Yes...I am still around...

SLACKER!

That is the only word to describe me the last 9 months of my life. Especially when it comes to this blog. I have THOUGHT about updating it plenty of times and honestly am very sad I haven't. In my mind I know why I haven't and it is a ridiculous and self conscious reason but I am trying to turn a new leaf and realized I want to use this blog as my journal for my own personal memories, whether anyone else reads it or not. I was too worried about being judged for letting myself go back to old habits. Mostly I am ashamed that I have gained weight, while some people may think this is ridiculous this is my truth. I am embarrassed and I completely secluded myself from the world as much as I could. I cringed when I saw people I know in public, I turned down lots of invites, I stopped using my camera as much, I stopped uploading pictures on Facebook and kind of went into a dark place. One morning I woke up and decided that I was letting my life pass me by and I can't do that to Colton and myself. I then realized that although I am not necessarily happy at this moment I cant let it hold me back and that it doesn't matter what I do with Colton we have FUN and I need to remember all the funny funny things he says and does. Although I still cringe when I see people and still am embarrassed by my photo's of myself I am trying to accept myself all the while making positive changes.

My goal is to update this weekend, I have lots to write about. I will probably start with recent stuff then back track through the spring and summer. So I am making a promise to myself and the world wide web...

*I will update this blog

*I will keep it updated

*I will keep this blog honest (I hate nothing more than reading blogs that I feel are fake)

Bare with me as I will probably have a post overload for a little bit. Read as much or as little as you like. But for now let me give you a little preview of the fun we have had...

Bath

Me: "Colton would you like to take a Bubble Bath?"

Colton: "No a water bath please."

Me: "Wow I didn't know there was any other kind."

Colton: "Yep"

Silly boy!

I Can't Believe I Forgot...

All the way back in July Colton and I went to Grandma and Grandpa Lambert's farm. I have to say that I have the coolest Grandpa and Colton has the coolest Great Grandpa. He is an honest to goodness a true cowboy. On this day Colton was lucky enough to have Grandpa take him on a horse ride around his property. He loved it! I was afraid he would be scared but we slowly walked up to the horse and pet him and made him more comfortable, it took him about ten seconds and he was ready to hop on. I feel so lucky to still have my grandparents around and for Colton to get to know his Great-Grandparents.

Very Blessed

We are BLESSED!
Last year at this time was a very difficult time for our family health wise. I was filled with love yesterday when we all got to be together yesterday as a family for Thanksgiving. Colton is a very lucky boy to have a Great Great Grandma and Great Grandma in his life whom love and adore him. I realize to have five generations alive and healthy is a very lucky thing and I will always cherish these photos.
